This song is beyond beautiful.
It's about the fear and pain of a deep relationship. You can take it to mean a human relationship, or one with God. I think it holds more referring to God.
If you have a knife in you what is the first thing you do? "Rip it out, Remove it"
We need to face our problems in a relationship and deal with them. Most of the time this will hurt, but it is the only way that progress will be made. We need to face our sin, and expose it. And we're scared to know that our sin is wrong, because in is comfortable. but, to lose it is "exactly what we need"
We must follow God with confidence, believing that we can do anything. But, being human we will fail, and we will be inconsistent.
The chorus holds so much. We have to realize that we sin. We have to let God break us of our own will so that we will learn to rely on Him. This is not an easy task. But when we think that we can't handle the pressures of change "Remember

I love how the word "us" is there. God loves us, when we hurt, HE hurts too. The pain is not mine to bear alone, it is "ours" to bear.

WEll thats why i love this song. It is so profound and mature. It is also very intelligent on a mere psychological leve.
